Summer 2008
Three new businesses have opened in our neighborhood this summer!  King of Tandoor is a new Indian restaurant that opened on the 1700 block of Callowhill.  Kite and Key Tavern also opened up on the same block.  In addition, a new grocery store called MVM Food Market has opened up at 12th and Buttonwood.

July 12 Summer Rooftop Party
The BAL hosted a summer rooftop party for residents and unit owners on July 12, 2008. Refreshments were served by Wise Management, KassCon Cleaning Co., and John Alberto. Music was provided by Chuck Aronson of the 8th floor. The party was a success and the night was beautiful. We hope to host other similar events soon.

The BAL just added a beautiful new picnic bench to the roof.

July 2008

Gardening Project Lori Walsh of the 2nd floor and Nevin Kasal of the 7th floor are heading an amazing gardening project this summer. Since late spring, Lori and Nevin (with the help of board members Virginia and Amy) have planted flowers, plants, and vegetables in planters on the rooftop. They will continue to garden throughout the summer. Also, the BAL is looking for a more permanent solution to bringing water to the roof. This summer, Wise Management has helped us set up a temporary solution via a pipe that brings water up to the roof. We hope to eventually set up a water collection system on the roof.

The elevator air circulation fan has been repaired.
